WHAT THEY SAY
Art One Gallery has been an vital partner with the Autism Academy for over five years. Their continued support has helped transform a single art department into several art departments across our campuses throughout the valley. Their commitment to providing gallery space and their personal time to sell student artwork has been invaluable to the school. They continually support student artwork, genuinely praise students for their accomplishments, and are always excited to see the new creations we bring to the gallery.
Amy Floyd
Former Art Director at Autism Academy of phoenix
During visits to his gallery, Kraig introduces students to the art world outside of the classroom. He provides students with practical information that all beginning artists need to be successful in the marketplace while instilling the need to stay true to themselves as artists.
Kraig addresses issues from the creation process and portfolio submission to selling works and creating contracts. Kraig has a keen eye for spotting talent and provides inspiration and assistance in developing programs to help that talent blossom.
Kraig encourages students to visit galleries on their own time and makes time to talk with students individually to help them establish themselves as working artists.
For the past two school years, Kraig has given Gilbert High School students, as well as students from other valley schools, the occasion to create and display meaningful artwork for his Scottsdale gallery by sponsoring collaborative projects and accepting student portfolios for review.

With his guidance, many students are given opportunities to have individual shows at the gallery, marking the beginning of their careers as professional artists. This opportunity is given to students without a commission charge, allowing students to receive all of the profit from sales of their work.
Kraig is also the co-founder of the Newlon-Foote Foundation. The goals of the Foundation is centered on the education and assistance of talented young artists. The Foundation is non-profit and assists struggling student artists by providing scholarships for tuition and supplies. The Foundation also grants assistance to underfunded school visual arts programs by purchasing equipment and supplies for the classroom.
Kraig Foote’s nonconformist commitment to having students in his gallery space for the purpose of education is unconventional for a gallery owner to say the least. We are grateful for his contribution to visual arts education and are delighted to nominate him for this prestigious award.
